Sunday 26th June – an introduction to Lectio Divina

On Sunday we will be using the practice of Lectio Divina (divine reading) in the service in order to bring the Word Of God into our lives.

The Psalmody set by  the lectionary is the beautiful Psalm 13 and we will be using this as the basis of our devotion.

You can begin to let the Psalm under your skin by reading it to yourself, aloud and under your breath, in your mind and in your heart as often as you wish before the service.

To learn more about Lectio Divina join us at St Andrew’s Box Hill at 10:30 on Sunday

Psalm 13

How long, O LORD?
Will you forget me for ever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, O LORD my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;
My enemy will say, I have overcome him, and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me.
